On September 10, 2014 at 8.30 p.m. in Verkstedhallen (Svartlamon) there will be the next stage of the no.theatre.pl project – a Norwegian theatre in a Polish city. As part of the International Festival for the performing arts Bastard 2014 a film documentation of the project will be presented accompanied by an exhibition of photographic works of a Szczecin-based artist Paweł Kula.
The city is constantly drifting, and its ephemeral users constantly create new phenomena in it. This organism is a field of competition and unexpected symbioses. This is a harmony of alternative models but also a space of genuine conflict. Plastic foil huts of urban nomads – and houses monitored by surveillance cameras. Bonfires of scrap collectors exploding with a sudden flames of burining cables – and family barbecues on Sunday. Devastated swimming pools, full of new life – and chimneys of abandoned factories where echoe seems to be endless. These phenomena are the marks of many beings drifting in urban hybrids – the hybrids constructing our understanding of the world, but – sometimes – emanating the aura of discreet violence. All these stories manifest themselves in one urban body and sometimes can be visible.
