Heine Avdal – a leader of workshops
We would like to invite ten people willing to participate in a four-day, free of charge workshop with Heine Avdal ( from 29 June to 2 July 2014).
The work presentations will take place between 3rd and 5th July 2014. Workshops will take place in the open outdoor space and in the TRAFO Art Transformer Station. Inspiration to work on the project can be followed at:

People willing to participate (English speakers), please contact us at: paula@kana.art.pl
In their workshop, Heine Avdal and Yukiko Shinozaki invite the participants to join the creative process of their current project distant voices, which investigates the effects of spatial organization on the body and its perception. What happens if an architectural space exceeds its own borders from within? What if a situation breaks out of its spatial limits? What if it dissolves its specific contextual set ups and codes by spreading to other frameworks? And how does this affect the physical, perceptive and behavioral relations between audience members and performers?
Distant voices pursues these questions by playing with the idea of materializing space. The project features a structure of moveable objects, whose presence augments the situation with a multiplicity of blind spots. As a modular, transformable sculpture, it oscillates between an installation, a stage design and an architectural element, continually shaping and reshaping the spaces in which it is presented, simultaneously segmenting them into both accessible and inaccessible areas, both visible and invisible zones.
By playing with this structure of objects, the workshop will move from the TRAFO Trafostacja Sztuki to the streets of Szczecin. The exploration of the interplay between objects and bodies, between architecture and movement will be gradually transposed from the intimate to the public level. Opening questions are: Which element is in charge when bodies and objects meet? Which one moves the other, which one is moved? And how will this interplay of bodies and objects affect the public sphere when performed in the urban environment?
The workshop will lead to three presentations of its outcomes, which will be performed under the title ‘distant voices - Conversation #2’ on 03rd, 04th and 5th of July.
